Welcome to another installment of our “Meet an Uplander” series where we will introduce you to various members of the community so you can; learn more about them, how they came to Upland, and what they are looking to get out of the game. Hopefully you will (or maybe already have) get to interact with these members in a more social settings like Discord.
TML: Tell us a little bit about yourself; where in the world are you from?
KaCiao: I live in Idaho, about an hour away from Yellowstone National Park. My friends from Belgium tell me they didn’t understand the term “middle of nowhere” until they came to visit.
TML: HA! What a perfect location for a Sasquatch! Anything interesting you’d like to share about yourself with the community?
KaCiao: I love the Disney movie Cars. My game name KaCiao is the Italian version of Lightning McQueen’s catch phrase kachow.
TML: What’s your background; Crypto or Gaming?
KaCiao: I’m not an expert in either. My background is farming (I live in Idaho) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). I grew up on a tree nursery and sod farm and didn’t have a lot of time to really get into gaming in my younger years. I’m new to the crypto world and just starting to understand how it is beneficial for so many industries.
TML: How did you hear about Upland?
KaCiao: I was reading up on the COIN app and the utility token XYO to try and decide if it is dead. I came across your guide to playing Upland. Next thing I know I’m transferring a few funds from my small stock trading account, having to decide what I wanted as my custom avatar, and getting excited about something that I still wonder if I have any clue about what I’m doing.
TML: That’s awesome! What is the most exciting thing to you about Upland?
KaCiao: It gives me new content to create maps and play with tools I haven’t had a chance to really use at work. I’ve been learning a lot of statistical mapping tools playing with data I get from Upland and my properties. I’m tempted to tell my supervisor I need professional development funds to purchase more properties for research purposes. My dream is to create a time lapse map showing all properties light up over time as though the lights are all turning on for San Francisco, but I have to figure out how to get the minting date of all the minted properties first.
TML: Um yes! That sounds like a great idea! What is your favorite property (it can be owned by you or someone else)? Why?
KaCiao: 4493 Mission St. It sits on the corner of Excelsior and Mission. I served a mission for my church, and spent a lot of time in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. During that time is when I really grew up and recognized what’s truly important in life.
TML: Would you like to make any plugs?
KaCiao: Yes, ALWAYS be kind to others. I can’t stress that enough. Everyone has problems and struggles, and you have no clue the struggles others are going through in life. If any of my fellow Uplanders are ever struggling and need someone to hear them out, hit me up. Also, if anyone wants to make any maps related to Upland, I’d love to help.
TML: That is a great message, I couldn’t agree more. Anything else you’d like to share/include in your profile?
KaCiao: Growing up in the middle of nowhere has given me unique access to Sasquatch and I’m going to share one thing with you that will help you to believe in them. Sasquatches are naturally blurry. That’s why they are always blurry in the images you see of them.
What an amazing Uplander! Thanks for sharing a bit of yourself with us!
